Born in Glasgow, 22nd June 1929, John Aloysius Mone was educated at Holyrood Secondary School, Sulpician seminaries in France of Issy-les-Moulineaux and Paris, Institut Catholique, Paris.
He was ordained priest in Glasgow, 12th June, 1952.
