"For Me"
Lies, taunts and torture;
You endured that for me.
Fear, loneliness, doubts;
You endured that for me.
Whipping, crown of thorns, humiliation; You endured that for me.
Exhaustion, falling to your knees, desperation;
You endured that foe me.
Nails, nails hammered through your hands and feet;
Excruciating pain
You endured that for me.
You hung there
Your body now a wretched thing.
Why? Why? Why would you possibly
Endure that for me?
Love, because 'I love you,' Jesus said.
