Pope Francis's recent encyclical, Laudato Si' (“Praised Be You”), has been one of the most widely anticipated papal documents in recent memory. ... Laudato Si' criticizes those who fail to care for that with which they have been entrusted and the consequences that can flow from that failure.

Eco-congregation Scotland is a Christian environmental charity addressing climate change and conservation.
"For Scotland to combat climate change, we each need to change our own consumption behaviours. Sharing libraries and repair projects provide simple and effective solutions to do this whilst reducing our carbon fotprint. We are proud to support the sector by running the network and hope to significantly grow the number of these projects in Scotland." (Michael Cook, CEO, Circular Communities Scotland)
"The Share and Repair Network really is revolutionary. It's the first of its kind in Scotland, and our members are helping transform how we think about and consume goods. There is so much heart in everything they do for the environment and their local communities. It's an honour to support and celebrate their work." (Emma Erwin, Share and Repair Network Co-ordinator.)

The climate challenge Programme Malawi (CCPM) is a programme improving access to food, water and energy for tens of thousands of people in southern Malawi facing a rapidly changing climate.
The CCPM provides a clear example of climate justice in action. It recognises people in developing countries are the first to be affected by climate change, and will suffer the most, despite having done little or nothing to cause the problem.
Building on historical links between Scotland and Malawi, and complementing other Scottish Government water management, renewable energy and poverty alleviation programmes, the CCPM will support a group of rural communities to identify and implement their own solutions to adapt and build resilience to the worst impacts of climate change.
SCIAF will administer the CCPM and work with Trocaire Malawi and a wide range of Malawian partners. The programme will benefit the environment, improve climate literacy in Malawi and Scotland and create a sustainable legacy that demonstrates long-term physical, behavioural and social change in the communities.

SCIAF intends to campaign on Loss and Damage as part of their climate justice work in the run up to COP 27 and beyond.
COP26 in Glasgow didn't achieve everything we wanted in support of those living on the front line of the climate crisis - but there were glimmers of hope. One of these was that the issue of 'Loss and Damage' was brought to the fore.
The losses and damages of climate change refer to the irreveersible impacts of the climate crisis which cannot or have not been avoided by reducing our emissions or adapting to global temperature increases. They affect humans and the natural environment.
