Renfrewshire Council is seeking responses to proposed traffic calming measures on Glenburn Road to the east side of its junction with Braehead Road.
It is proposed that "... 'buildouts' are introduced along the stretch of road to reduce the traffic speed and improve safety. .... this would see vehicles having to stop to give way to oncoming vehicles at two sections of the road and this would slow traffic and reduce the risk of road users reaching a high speed."
The Council would like feedback on these proposals so please pass on any comments to ei@renfrewshire.gov.uk by Sunday 13 March 2022.
In addition, and separate to this proposal, there will be a ‘Puffin’ Pedestrian Crossing installed on the west arm of the Glenburn Road/Braehead Road roundabout at St Peter’s Church.
Pope Francis's recent encyclical, Laudato Si' (“Praised Be You”), has been one of the most widely anticipated papal documents in recent memory. ... Laudato Si' criticizes those who fail to care for that with which they have been entrusted and the consequences that can flow from that failure.
LET'S DO NET ZERO
We're Living in a Climate Emergency.
Climate change and nature loss are the greatest global threats we face. We need to act now to protect what we love and reach net zero emissions. Together we can create a cleaner, healthier, happier and more successful nation. Doing nothing isn't an option. Scotland, let's do net zero!
Scotland is taking action to tackle the global climate emergency. Across the nation, government, businesses, communities and individuals are working together to protect Scotland and our planet. By making changes to how we live and work we'll reach net zero emissions by 2045 and build a better, fairer world.

As Scotland comes into the spotlight hosting COP26 – the United Nations climate talks due in Glasgow this November – we are calling on all Scotland’s churches to join the conversation and take action on the climate emergency.
One of the most powerful ways we can encourage change is in talking, listening and telling our stories. Eco-Congregation Scotland has produced “Let’s talk about the climate emergency“, monthly themed resources to help congregations take part in awareness raising conversations about the climate emergency, encouraging everyone to take action.
Plastic is used in many different items, from food storage boxes, cups, toothbrushes, dog food pouches and car tyres to clothing. It’s durable and waterproof. A useful material but is plastic fantastic?
While some plastics can be recycled not all are easy to reuse. Plastic doesn’t break down easily, although if left long enough it may start to break down into microplastics. Plastic pollution has been noted in waterways and the world’s oceans.
What should our relationship be to this material and how do we deal with it?
Join us to discuss plastics and how we might begin to rethink how we use them in our day to day lives.
