During the month of November dedicated to All Saints and All Souls, we do a lot of remembering. This evening's reflection focussed on how remembering can help us to move forward in our prayer life and so find our burden less heavy.
SUNDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2017 - 11.15am Holy Mass celebrated for all deceased parishioners who died in the past year. Relatives of the deceased are invited each year to attend this Mass and to participate in the remembrance of their loved ones in a special way as part of the Mass. Prayers were also offered for all war dead in keeping with Remembrance Sunday. World peace was also at the centre of this liturgy.
Mass was celebrated this weekend to commemorate those who died in WW1, WW11 and subsequent conflicts. Prayers were offered for all those affected by conflict and also for world peace. The red poppy wreaths symbolised the loss of life in war and the white poppy wreaths symbolised our hopes and prayers for world peace.
SUNDAY 5 NOVEMBER 2017 - 10am Holy Mass celebrated for all deceased parishioners who died in the past year. Relatives of the deceased are invited each year to attend this Mass and to participate in the remembrance of their loved ones in a special way as part of the Mass.
"The Pope Francis FAITH AWARD is an award of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, designed to help children to show “signs of love” in their daily lives and to be active members of their local Church. It invites young people at the Primary 6 and 7 stages to use the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and to see how they can bear fruit in their homes, schools and parishes. It is connected to what young people are learning about the Sacrament of Confirmation."
