AREAS OF PRIORITY | GOALS |
---|---|
LITURGY & SPIRITUALITY:
The Mass and the Sacraments are the means by which we grow in holiness towards a deeper union with The Father. The rich variety of liturgy and the diverse forms of spirituality help us to grow strong in faith and to express our gratitude to God. New forms and opportunities will enrich
our experience of both.

EVANGELISATION & MISSION: The Church by its very nature is missionary. As members of the Church we accept the Father's invitation to "Go out into the whole world and baptise all nations." The lapsed need to be encouraged and the enquirer seeks to understand and to know the Good News. We share in that responsibility and take the necessary steps to proclaim "The Gospel of Joy", guided by the Bishop through the Diocesan Synod as a means
to reach out and in-gather.

ADULT EDUCATION & FORMATION:
Most people beyond Primary and Secondary education do not continue with study and reflection on Theology. However, there is a hunger at the moment expressed by Parishioners for knowledge and understanding of a variety of subjects on Church teaching. Providing the means for further study and formation will satisfy this need in a simple, informal and satisfying way.

ECUMENISM:
Ecumenism is a response to the Grace of God.
It calls all Christians to faith in the kind of Church God wants; to hope that Jesus' prayer -
"May they all be one" - one day be answered in its fullness; and to charity which is the Spirit's gift uniting all believers. In St. Peter's, it is our wish to pray with and to work with the Leaders and Parishioners of Christian churches in the neighbourhood.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY:
A strong, welcoming Community is very important in St. Peter's. Parshioners should feel that they belong here and are valued. A warm welcome and good hospitality contribute greatly to that strong sense of community. Social events will provide opportunities for Parishioners to bond
and to form close relationships. Families and individuals can meet with Parishioners who want to spend time with them and get to know them better.
