POPE FRANCIS' PRAYER INTENTION
For Deacons
"Deacons are not second-level priests. They are part of the clergy and live their vocation in and with their family. They are dedicated to the service of the poor, who carry within them the face of the suffering Christ. They are the guardians of service in the Church.
Let us pray that deacons, faithful in their service to the Word and the poor, may be an invigorating symbol for the entire Church."
Pope Francis
Thinking of and praying especially for
Deacon John.
Your service and ministry is much appreciated by
St. Peter's and St. Paul's Parishioners.
May the Love of God continue to guide and direct you
in your service as a Deacon.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the end of June, 2016, we celebrated the ordination of Rev. Matthew Carlin to the priesthood. Matthew's ordination was the first for our Diocese in over ten years. The ordination provided all of us with a unique opportunity
to reflect on the Rite of Ordination and how it speaks to us as we all follow our different vocations in the Church. With this in mind, our Diocesan Vocations Commission developed a programme entitled:
'Called and Chosen: Reflections on Ordination'.
Parishioners throughout the Diocese are encouraged to reflect upon different aspects of the
Rite of Ordination. If you wish a pdf copy of the booklet please e-mail
Father John Morrison: vocations@rcdop.org.uk or visit the Diocesan website http://rcdop.org.uk.
---------------------------------------------
VOCATIONS Magazine
The Vocations Commission has produced a "Vocations Magazine." The first edition focusses on our Seminarians. Future editions will be broader in scope.
Please take one if you are interested in finding out about the Priesthood, or, if you know anyone who may be interested.
When you have finished with it - please pass it on to someone whom you think will appreciate it.
